A few months ago, Megan of Modern Bird Studios contacted me about creating a custom art piece for our home.  I was familiar with her husband’s work through some blogs like Decor Chick and All Things G&D, so I was really excited to hear from her.  I found out that their story is truly a labor of love as they launched the studio when her husband Gregg (who creates the art) was laid off from his job in 2009.  

So, what is Modern Bird Studios?  They create personalized modern art from photography.  You provide them a photo and they break it down into abstract shapes that make up the form. Then they use contrasting colors (of your choice) to create the painting. The coolest thing is that the art is hand painted on a thick piece of oak wood.

and they turned it into this

How cool is THAT?!  And just in time for his birthday!!!!!   I really couldn’t believe how awesome it turned out.  And seriously, Megan was so super sweet and GREAT to work with!  I love promoting companies with sincere, hard working people who are talented and passionate about what they do.  If you’d like to see more of Modern Bird Studio’s work, check out their portfolio.
